Zach Fortune to Transfer Following Spring Semester

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State men's basketball player Zach Fortune was given his release and has decided to transfer from ISU at the end of the Spring semester, head men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy announced Thursday.
"We wish Zach the best of luck in his athletic and academic future," Eustachy said. "We really appreciated the time and effort he gave our program."
The Omaha, Neb., native played in 12 games as a true freshman until suffering a season-ending injury on Feb. 9 when he tore an ACL. Fortune averaged 2.2 ppg and made 53.3 percent of his shots from the floor. He scored a career-high 10 points to help ISU down Brigham Young in the Yahoo! Sports Invitational.
