AMES, Iowa -- Ennis Haywood, Cory Hannen and Lorenzo White came to NFL free agent agreements with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars, respectively Monday. The trio join tight end Mike Banks (7th round, Arizona), offensive lineman Marcel Howard (FA, Detroit Lions) and defensive end Kevin De Ronde (FA, Dallas Cowboys) as 2001 Iowa State Cyclones heading to NFL camps.
Haywood, a two-time first-team all-Big 12 selection at tailback, rushed for 2,862 yards in his ISU career, including 1,237 yards in 2000 and 1,169 yards in 2001. He ranks fifth on the all-time ISU career rushing chart. Hannen, a Cedar Rapids-Kennedy product, was a four-year letterwinner who started every game of the Cyclones' 2001 Independence Bowl season at right tackle. White started all 24 games of the past two bowl seasons at right guard as ISU rolled to a 16-8 overall mark during that span, including a 37-29 victory over Pittsburgh in the Insight.com Bowl that closed out a 9-3 season.
