AMES, Iowa - Iowa State junior guard Jake Sullivan continues to rack up postseason accolades. After earning third team All-Big 12 honors from the Associated Press on Monday, the sharpshooting Cyclone was named to the 2002-03 United States Basketball Writers Association All-District VI Team on Tuesday.
Sullivan, a junior guard from Oakdale, Minn., leads the Cyclones in scoring at 17.6 ppg and has been one of the most efficient free-throw and 3-point shooters in school and Big 12 history. He is the all-time leader in free-throw percentage (88.9 percent) in Big 12 history and ranks third on ISU's all-time 3-point made chart (176). He leads ISU in 3-pointers (55) and free-throw percentage (88.2 percent) this season.
Earlier in the season, Sullivan was named to the Verizon Academic All-America District VII Men's Basketball Team for the second straight year and was a first team Academic All-Big 12 honoree for the second consecutive season. He was also selected to the 2003 NABC Division I All-District 12 second team.
