LINCOLN, Neb. - The Iowa State volleyball team, facing another top-25 team, fell to Nebraska, 3-0, in a Big 12 road match this evening. The Cyclones lost to the Huskers by game scores of 30-16, 30-21 and 30-19. The match was played at the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb.
Nebraska dominated the match, hitting .289 while holding ISU to a .030 percentage, the lowest of the season for Iowa State. The Huskers had 54 kills to ISU's 29 and were able to dominate the match offensively.
Erin Boeve, a freshman outside hitter, led the Cyclones in kills, knocking down 13 on the evening. Boeve notched a team-high .435 hitting percentage for Iowa State, a season-high for the Steen, Minn., native. The 13 kills ties her career and season-high in that category.
Amanda Craig, a junior setter from Des Moines, recorded her fourth straight double-double with 14 assists and 26 digs. It was Craig's 10th double-double of the season, a team-high.
Iowa State moves to 8-10 overall and 1-9 in league play in 2004. The Cyclones' next match will be against intrastate rival Northern Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 20. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum.
