DALLAS - Iowa State senior center Jared Homan averaged 13.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in three Iowa State wins last week, helping him earn Big 12 Player of the Week honors today.
Homan, a native of Remsen, Iowa, started off the week by scoring 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the floor in ISU's 73-46 win over Drake. Homan also had five blocks and nine boards vs. the Bulldogs. The center followed the Drake game with back-to-back double-doubles vs. Northern Colorado and Bucknell en route to MVP honors at the American Family Insurance Cyclone Challenge. He tallied 14 points, 11 boards and three blocks vs. Northern Colorado and 11 points and 13 rebounds vs. Bucknell.
Homan needs 11 blocks to become ISU's all-time career blocked shots leader. He currently ranks eighth on the Big 12 all-time blocked shot chart with 179.
