Cyclone Divers Complete Day One of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

AMES, Iowa - Senior Linda Wagner and sophomore Hillary Nichols both competed well on the first day of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships in Houston, Texas, but neither qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Wagner landed in 10th place on the 1-meter springboard with a total of 460.55 points while Nichols finished in 17th place with 418.95 points. Only the top two finishers on the 1-meter board qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Both divers will have two more chances to make the cut for the NCAA Championships, starting with the 3-meter springboard competition at 4 p.m., on Saturday. On Sunday, Wagner and Nichols will compete on the platform at 11:30 a.m.
