DALLAS - Iowa State's Curtis Stinson and Jackson Vroman were named third-team all-Big 12, announced today by the Associated Press. Jake Sullivan earned honorable mention honors.
Stinson recorded one of the best freshman seasons in Iowa State and Big 12 history, ranking 10th in the league in scoring (15.4 ppg), third in assists (4.56 apg), fifth in steals (1.67 spg) and 15th in rebounding (6.1 rpg). The Bronx, N.Y., native has the third-best rookie scoring average in Big 12 history and the best in school history. Vroman, a native of Bountiful, Utah, is the Big 12's top rebounder at 9.7 rpg. The senior forward led the Cyclones in field goal percentage (56.8), which ranks third in the Big 12, and double-doubles with seven. Vroman, who was third on the team in scoring at 13.6 ppg, has the second-best career field goal percentage in school history at 55.9 percent
Sullivan, a senior from Oakdale, Minn., was named an all-Big 12 squad for the third consecutive year. Sullivan is the Big 12's all-time leader in free-throw percentage at 89.5 percent, which ranks No. 8 on the NCAA career free-throw shooting list. Sullivan, who was second on the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg, is ISU's career leader and the Big 12's fourth-best 3-point shooter in history with 257 treys in his career.
