ISU Volleyball Plays Host to the First of Two Spring Tournaments

AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State volleyball team will open their spring season at home on April 10, playing host to the 2004 Spring Jamboree with Northern Iowa, UMKC, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, and Nebraska-Kearney all taking part. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. at the Forker Building on the Iowa State campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The Cyclones will take on Nebraska-Omaha at 10 a.m. in their first game of the tournament and will then play UMKC at 11 a.m. In the afternoon session, ISU will play intrastate rival Northern Iowa, at 2 p.m. and finish up the day with a 3 p.m. contest against Nebraska-Kearney.

According to head coach Linda Crum, the tournament is a great way to showcase the talent the Cyclones have coming back.

“During the spring season, we try to put everyone on the floor,” Crum said. “We feel it's important to get some stats on everyone so we can see who fits where and what we have to work with come the fall.”

The Cyclones will host their second tournament of the season, 2004 Spring Fling, on Saturday, April 17, starting at 8 a.m. in the Forker Building. The event is free and open to the public.
