AMES, Iowa - Iowa State junior I-back Stevie Hicks was selected as the SBC Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week today by a media panel. Mason Crosby of Colorado and Charlton Keith from Kansas were named Special Teams and Defensive players of the week.
Offensive Players of the Week
Stevie Hicks, Jr, RB, Iowa State (Omaha, Neb.)
Hicks ran for a season-high 149 yards and a 37-yard touchdown in Iowa State's 45-17 win over Kansas State. Hicks rushed for 130 yards in the second half as ISU built upon a 17-10 halftime lead. It marked the third time this season and third of his career to eclipse the 100-yard rushing mark.
Defensive Player of the Week
Charlton Keith, Sr, DE, Kansas (Akron, Ohio)
Keith had eight tackles (four solo), three tackles for loss and a sack as Kansas snapped a 36-game losing streak against Nebraska with a 40-15 triumph. Along with three TFL's for minus-16 yards and a pass deflection, Keith led a defensive effort that held the Cornhuskers to 21 yards rushing and 158 yards of offense.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Mason Crosby, Jr, PK, Colorado (Georgetown, Texas)
Crosby moved into third place on the Colorado career scoring list in CU's 41-12 victory over Missouri. Crosby connected on field goals of 56 and 43 yards. His 56-yarder was the fifth-longest in school history and his 10th career make from beyond 50 yards.
