Hickey Dominates in Career Opener

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa State freshman Kara Hickey lead a trio of Cyclones to an undefeated day one at the Lloyd Stokstad Invitational. Hickey began her debut at Iowa State by overtaking Amy Pierson of Creighton, 6-1, 6-1, before defeating Wisconsin Green-Bay's Megan Gregory, 6-1, 6-1. Cyclones Jill Palen and Chrissy Derouin were also undefeated at the end of day one.

The Iowa State women's tennis team hit the courts for the first time this fall. The three day tournament at Drake University features singles and doubles play between ISU, Drake, Creighton, Nebraska, Nebraska-Omaha, UNI, Northern Colorado and Wisconsin Green-Bay.

Tournament action will continue tomorrow at the Drake Tennis Center.
