The last Cyclone quarterback to throw 30 completions was Seneca Wallace in 2001 at Texas A&M. Todd Bandhauer also threw 30 completions in 1998 at Texas. The school record is 31 completions by Seneca Wallace against Missouri in 2002.

Team Notes
Tonight's punt block for a safety in the first quarter was the first safety recorded by ISU since Jeremy Loyd recorded a safety in a 36-31 win at Iowa on Sept. 14, 2002.
Iowa State is 80-30-4 in season openers and have won the last three in a row. This is the second time in the Coach McCarney era that ISU has won three season openers in a row (1999-2001).
