AMES, Iowa - Iowa State opens a big week in Big 12 play with a Tuesday match against No. 11 Texas at 6:30 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones, led by Big 12 Player of the Week, Erin Boeve, captured a pair of road wins at Kansas State and Kansas last week.

Scouting Texas
No. 8 Texas went 1-1 last week, dropping a five-game match at Oklahoma before defeating Kansas State in five on Saturday. In all, Texas has dropped two of three matches and sits at 9-4 overall and in a tie for fourth in the Big 12 with a 4-2 conference mark. The Longhorns rank just ninth in the Big 12 with 2.41 blocks but are second with 16.76 kills and 17.02 digs.
Texas is led by setter Michelle Moriarty, who averages a Big 12 leading 13.64 assists. Moriarty is also one of the best servers in the league, sitting in sixth with 20 aces in 50 games. Dariam Acevedo lead Texas with 4.26 kills while libero Alyson Jennings is averaging a team-high 3.86 digs.
Last Time Out
Iowa State has won two straight after Saturday's 3-0 win at Kansas. The Cyclones used 17 kills and a career-high seven digs from Erin Boeve as ISU dominated the net to pick up the sweep. Boeve's fellow middle blocker, Jessica Klein, hit .474 (17k-1e-19a) and had two solo blocks and three block assists in the win. Lauren Cummings had 10 kills and hit .348 while Nicole Lorenzen had a team-high 14 digs in the match.
Big 12 Player of the Week
Erin Boeve earned Big 12 Player of the Week (Oct. 2) honors for the second time in her career after strong performances at K-State and Kansas. The junior averaged 4.88 kills, 2.00 blocks and 1.12 digs on the week. On the week, Boeve compiled 48.5 points and hit at a .352 clip.
1,000-Kill Watch
ISU senior outside hitter Katie Jessen is closing in on the historical 1,000-kill club. Jessen has 968 career kills and is looking to become the sixth ISU player to reach the mark. Kirstin Hugdahl and Steph McCannon both reached the mark in 1994.
