Iowa State middle blocker Erin Boeve was named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Volleyball Player of the Week for the matches Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
It is the first time in school history that an Iowa State player has ever received the award.
Boeve, a junior from Steen, Minn., averaged 4.88 kills, 2.00 blocks and 1.12 digs as ISU won a pair of Big 12 road contests at Kansas State (3-2) and Kansas (3-0).
At K-State, Boeve recorded a double-double with 22 kills and 12 blocks while posting 29 points.
Boeve, who also earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors, followed her performance at KSU with 17 kills and a career-high seven digs in the sweep of Kansas. She also contributed a solo block and three block assists.
On the week, Boeve compiled 48.5 points and hit at a .352 clip, improving her season hitting percentage to .309.
Boeve and the Cyclones host a pair of nationally ranked foes this week. On Tuesday, the Cyclones will face No. 11 Texas at 6:30 p.m., before playing host to No. 17 Missouri on Saturday at 4 p.m. Admission to the Missouri match is FREE.
