Cyclones Host Kansas State Wednesday

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team hosts Kansas State Wednesday night at Hilton Coliseum before heading into its second bye week of the Big 12 season. The Cyclones swept Baylor on Saturday night to move to 14-7 overall and 6-5 in Big 12 play. For the first time this season, fans can watch the match live on Cyclones.com.

Scouting Kansas State
Kansas State picked up their first Big 12 win of the season last Wednesday, handing Texas Tech a 3-1 setback in Manhattan. The Wildcats then dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker at Missouri on Wednesday, despite getting 23 kills from Angie Lastra and 20 from Sandy Werner. Lastra and Lauren Rosenthal paced K-State with 18 digs each.

Iowa State leads 35-32 after snapping a 20-match losing streak to the Wildcats. The Cyclones lead 13-12 in Ames.

Erin Boeve had a season-high 22 kills and 12 blocks to rally the Cyclones past Kansas State, 3-2 (30-19, 21-30, 29-31, 30-26, 15-11), at Ahearn Field House. The win was Iowa State's first over K-State since 1995, a streak spanning 20 matches. Lauren Cummings (18 kills), Katie Jessen (14 kills) and Nicole Lorenzen (11 kills) also reached double-figures for ISU. Freshman Kaylee Manns had 65 assists and 21 digs while Katie Churm added 17 digs in the win.

Last Time Out
The Cyclones won their second straight match and earned a season sweep with a 3-0 win over Baylor on Saturday in Waco, Texas. Katie Jessen had 18 kills and ISU hit .353 as a team to sweep the Bears. Jessica Klein led a precise hitting attack for the Cyclones, hitting at a .667 clip with 12 kills and no errors on 18 attempts. Erin Boeve (11 kills) and Nicole Lorenzen (12 kills) reached double-figures for ISU while Kaylee Manns had 48 assists and a team-high 14 digs. Jessen finished with her 10th double-double of the season, adding 12 digs in the win.
