AMES, Iowa - Iowa State will continue its brief homestand with a 4 p.m. contest Saturday against another nationally ranked foe as No. 17 Missouri comes to Hilton Coliseum. The match, which was moved up to 4 p.m. to avoid conflict with the ISU-Nebraska football game, will be free to all fans.

Scouting Missouri
No. 17 Missouri enters this weekend winners of its last six matches, including a 3-0 sweep of Kansas on Wednesday evening. The Tigers are led by Iowa native Jessica Vander Kooi (Hinton, Iowa). Vander Kooi, who has earned two Big 12 Player of the Week honors this year, is one of the most well rounded players in the Big 12, averaging 4.38 kills, 3.31 digs and 1.12 blocks per game. The Tigers' freshman setter Lei Wang, who replaces two-time All-American Lindsey Hunter, is averaging 11.84 assists per game. The Tigers are one of the best serving teams in the country, with Vander Kooi and Julianna Klein both at 20 aces on the season.

Missouri leads 33-26 and has won 18 straight dating back to 1997. The last Cyclone win at home came on Nov. 21, 1996, a 3-0 sweep.
Last Time Out
The Cyclones were tripped up by No. 11 Texas on Tuesday night at Hilton Coliseum, ending their two match winning streak. Ashley Engle was unstoppable for the Longhorns, ripping 16 kills and digging 13 balls. Iowa State, which was out blocked for just the second time this season, was led by Lauren Cummings, who had 12 kills in the match.
Big 12 and National Honors
Erin Boeve earned Big 12 and Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week (Oct. 2) honors for her performances at Kansas State and Kansas. The middle blocker averaged 4.88 kills, 2.00 blocks and 1.12 digs. On the week, Boeve compiled 48.5 points and hit at a .352 clip.

The Cyclones next five opponents have a winning percentage of .469 based on conference matches only, giving the Cyclones the seventh most difficult schedule in the Big 12 for the next five matches. Baylor, which sits one spot below ISU in the conference standings, will face opponents with a .438 winning percentage while Colorado, one spot above ISU, will battle opponents with a .419 winning percentage.
