COLUMBIA, Mo. ? Iowa State continued its amazing trend of snapping long losing streaks to Big 12 opponents with a 3-1 (30-27, 30-22, 24-30, 30-22) win over No. 21 Missouri on Wednesday night. The win ended a string of 19 straight losses to Missouri, a streak dating back to 1996.
The Cyclones have now snapped losing streaks this season of 20 to Kansas State, 21 to Texas A&M as well as picking up their first win against Colorado in Boulder for the first time since 1987.
With the win, Iowa State improves to 16-7 overall and 8-5 in Big 12 play. The 16 wins equal last season's total. Missouri falls to 14-9 overall and 8-6 in Big 12 play.
The Cyclones moved ahead of Missouri in the Big 12 standings for the first time this season.
