Scouting Nebraska
Nebraska, the nation's top-ranked and only undefeated team, improved to 22-0 overall and 14-0 in the Big 12 with a sweep of Oklahoma. The Huskers, who have led the Big 12 in blocking in each of the last eight seasons, rank second behind Iowa State with 3.21 per game. All-American Sarah Pavan leads NU with 5.11 kills while Dani Busboom is averaging a league-high 5.14 digs and Tracy Stalls hits at a .443 clip.
All-Time Series
Iowa State has never beaten Nebraska, as the Huskers are 69-0 all-time against the Cyclones.
Nebraska 3, Iowa State 0
Nebraska got 15 kills from All-American Sarah Pavan and out blocked Iowa State, 13 to five, to defeat the Cyclones,3-0, on Sept. 20, in Lincoln. Katie Jessen had a team-high 12 kills for ISU, while freshman Kaylee Manns had 36 assists and a team-high 15 digs. Nebraska out hit the Cyclones, .250 to .083, and was blocked just once by the Cyclones in the final two games.
Last Time Out
Iowa State won its fifth straight match with a sweep of Kansas Saturday at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones hit .344 and used 14 kills from Erin Boeve to earn the season sweep of the Jayhawks in front of 1,474 spectators. The win, coupled with Colorado's 3-1 loss at Missouri, also moved ISU into sole possession of fourth place in the Big 12. Boeve hit .435 in the match and Katie Jessen hit .345 with 11 kills. Katie Churm had 17 digs for ISU.
Dig It
The Cyclones are averaging 19.00 digs per game during their five match win streak. Their season average is 16.73. Four players are averaging 3.00+ digs per game during the stretch, including Katie Churm, who is averaging a team-high 4.67 digs during the stretch.
Matched That, And Now THIS!
The Cyclones won their 17th match with their win over Kansas Saturday, the most since 1995. The Cyclones also have tied a school-record with nine Big 12 wins, matching last season's total.
The Better The Competition, The Better She Plays
Erin Boeve's season has been impressive, but her play in Big 12 matches has been even more impressive. The junior middle blocker is hitting .339 in conference matches, compared to an already solid .319 in all matches. She also averages 3.63 kills per game in the Big 12, up from 3.32 overall.
Nice Run
The Cyclones own a school-record five-match Big 12 winning streak. The last time the Cyclones won five straight in conference play was 1990, when ISU was part of the Big Eight.
