SET ONE
Arizona took the first four points, while ISU took its first lead at 7-6 after back-to-back Goolsby kills. It was a close race from there, while the Cyclones held the narrow 15-14 edge at the media timeout. Following two ISU kills and an Arizona attack error, the home team took a 19-16 lead. A kill by Hanfelt brought ISU to 20 points (20-17) and an ace by Hanfelt came right after. Another run, this one of four, brought Iowa State up 23-17 as Arizona called its second timeout. ISU would take the set 25-19.
SET TWO
Duckworth laid down kill after kill, getting her eighth at .438 to make it 4-2 early. Arizona went on to knot the score at 9s, but ISU remained with the lead as the Cyclones made it 15-13 on Alea Goolsby's seventh kill. The set was brought to a tie at 19s after the Wildcats took three straight, causing a timeout by Iowa State. ISU responded not allowing another Wildcat point to take the set 25-19.
SET THREE
Goolsby joined Duckworth hitting double figure kills as the freshman made it 7-3 to start the third. UA came within two at 10-8, but the Wildcats followed with a service error to halt their run. With Iowa State up four, Arizona went on its way to tie the scoreboard at 15s, while a big block by Abbi Brenizer and Tierney Jackson came next to keep the Cyclones with the lead. Goolsby continued showing her firepower, finding the floor with a kill to reach 20 (20-17). The Cyclones reached match point on a solo block by Duckworth at 24-20, but UA fought back with three kills. The match was ended on the next point after an error by the visitors to seal the sweep.
