Cyclone Volleyball Heads North to UNI Spring Invitational

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team will look to continue its strong spring performance at the Northern Iowa Spring Invitational this weekend in Cedar Falls. The Cyclones are coming off an impressive performance at the Chicago Spring Tournament that included wins against Purdue and Valparaiso.

This weekend's tournament will feature matches against intrastate rivals Drake and Northern Iowa as well as contests against Navy and North Dakota State. ISU's first match will be against Drake, who the Cyclones downed 3-0 a year ago, at 10 a.m.

The Cyclones defeated UNI, 3-0 (40-22, 34-28, 43-19), at the Wisconsin Spring Tournament after posting their first win over the Panther since 1992 during the regular season. ISU also defeated North Dakota State, 3-0 (30-25, 30-20, 30-16), last season.

The tournament, which will be played at West Gym, will feature two game matches up to 30 points.
