- The match drew a school-record 6,705 spectators. It was the largest crowd ever to watch a collegiate volleyball match in the state of Iowa.
- Against the Huskers, Victoria Henson was the lone Cyclone to reach double-figures with 11 kills as ISU hit just .135 as a team while allowing NU to hit .389. Ashley Mass and Amy Vos recorded double-digit digs for ISU with 12 and 10, respectively.
- In Iowa State's two contests last week Henson led the team with 3.62 kills per game on .253 hitting. Ashley Mass averaged 5.12 digs per game as the Cyclones went 1-1.
- Iowa State has recorded at least 100 digs on three different occasions this season, including 102 against Mizzou in a digfest earlier this season (MU had 97 in the match). The Cyclones also topped the century mark with 102 against Baylor and 101 at Oklahoma.
- The Cyclones need one win to become eligible for an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.
- Jen Malcom is Iowa State's leading regular attacker in road matches, hitting at a .328 clip away from Hilton Coliseum.
- Ashley Mass ran her streak of consecutive matches with double-figure digs to 19 with her 12-dig performance against Nebraska. The freshman has recorded 20+ digs seven times this season, including two of the last three matches.
- Kaylee Manns moved into sixth all-time at ISU with her 28 assists against Nebraska. The sophomore now has 2,479 assists and needs just four to move into fifth and past Julie McGrath (1995-98).
- Erin Boeve and Amy Vos earned second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII honors while Lauren Cummings earned third-team honors.
Stat of the Week
- With 12 more digs Ashley Mass, who already holds the freshman record with 393 digs, will move into Iowa State's single-season top-10. The freshman from Muskego, Wis., has a realistic shot at recording the third highest single year total.
Head Coach Christy Johnson
- Head coach Christy Johnson is in her third season at Iowa State with a 52-37 (.584) record.
- Johnson, who inherited a team that had won just 13 Big 12 matches in 180 tries, has led ISU to a 30-26 league record.
- Johnson is 2-3 all-time against Missouri. The wins have come in the last two meetings between the schools with last season's road win in Columbia snapping a 19 match losing streak to the Tigers.
- Against Texas Tech, Johnson picked up her 50th win as head coach at Iowa State, becoming the fastest ISU coach to reach 50 wins. Here is a look at the other ISU coaches to reach 50 wins and how long it took:
| Coach | No. of Matches To 50 Wins | Record |
| Christy Johnson | 84 | 50-34 (.595) |
| Jackie Nunez | 89 | 50-39 (.562) |
| Vicki Mealer | 91 | 50-41 (.549) |

The Tigers are led by reigning Big 12 Libero of the Year Tatum Ailes, who ranks second in the league with 4.80 digs per game. - Individually, preseason all-Big 12 selection Na Yang leads the way with 4.48 kills per game. Lei Wang paces the Missouri offense, which hits at a .242 clip, with 9.72 assists per game. - Missouri took a significant hit when Julianna Klein went down with a knee injury before the start of Big 12 play. Klein was leading the Tigers with 4.44 kills at the time of the injury. - Mizzou leads the all-time series 34-28 but the Cyclones have won the last two matches. Last Time They Met (9/22/07)
With the match tied at two apiece the Cyclones roared out to a 14-7 lead in game five and appeared headed to sure victory. But the Tigers had other plans as they ripped off seven straight to tie it at 14-14 before a Mary Bisenius' kill and a block by Erin Boeve and Lauren Cummings gave Iowa State the win. Boeve, playing in her first game back at middle blocker, led ISU with 22 kills while Cummings chipped in 18 and Ashley Mass recorded 26 digs. Weiwen Wang paced Mizzou with 18 kills while Lei Wang had 24 digs in the loss.
