AMES, Iowa- Four Iowa State cross country runners were named USTFCCCA Division I Cross Country All-Region runners, the Big 12 Conference announced on Tuesday. Cyclone men Kiel Uhl and Kevin Born, both juniors, and ISU women Lisa Koll and Grace Kemmey, also juniors, all added accolades to their impressive seasons.
Uhl, Born and the rest of the ISU men's squad are coming off of a third-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday. The Cyclones' team placing was their highest since 1995.
Koll, a Fort Dodge native, and Kemmey placed fourth and seventh overall respectively, at the regional meet en route to a seventh-place team finish for the women. Koll and Kemmey qualified for the NCAA Championships individually, and the men's squad qualified for the national meet as a team.
The Cyclones compete at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Monday. The men's race will begin at 11 a.m. CST and the women run at 11:55 a.m. CST.
