Craig Brackins Earns First Big 12 Honor

DALLAS, Texas- Iowa State freshman Craig Brackins was honored by the Big 12 Conference office today, sharing Big 12 Rookie of the Week accolades for games played Nov. 26-Dec. 2. Brackins, a native of Palmdale, Calif., shared the award with Oklahoma State's James Anderson.
Brackins was instrumental in ISU's 71-64 overtime win at Oregon State on Friday. Brackins tied a career high with 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to notch his second double-double of the season. The rookie was 9-of-16 from the field and scored ISU's go-ahead basket in the overtime period.
Brackins currently leads the team in scoring at 14.0 ppg. The forward already has two 20-point games this season and he currently ranks 10th in the Big 12 in blocked shots at 1.2 bpg.
