The Iowa State volleyball team will host the first of two home tournaments this spring on Saturday at Forker Gym. The tournament is free and open to the public.
The Cyclones, who last season earned the school's second NCAA Tournament berth, will open play at 11 a.m. against UMKC. The second contest will see ISU facing Creighton at 12:10 p.m. before it closes out the tournament with a rematch against Wisconsin, who knocked the Cyclones out of the NCAA Tournament in the second round last year, at 2:10 p.m.
Each contest will be two games up to 30 points.
Last weekend, Iowa State defeated the University of Tampa, the 2006 NCAA Division II National Champions, twice while taking a match from Florida Southern College. In the first contest against Tampa, ISU won three of the four games. The Cyclones then beat Florida Southern, 3-1, before defeating Tampa, 2-1, to conclude their spring break trip.
