Johnson Earns National Recognition

AMES, Iowa- Iowa State freshman forward Wesley Johnson was named honorable mention freshman All-American by Collegehoops.net.

A native of Corsicana, Texas, Johnson enjoyed an outstanding rookie season where he averaged 12.3 points and 7.9 rebounds. Johnson, who led the Cyclones and ranks in the top-five in the Big 12 in rebounding, also paced the squad in double-doubles (11) and blocks (33). His 33 rejections and 32 treys on the season both rank third on ISU's freshmen charts.

The 6-7 forward was named to the Big 12 all-Newcomer team by the league's coaches and was a Big 12 all-Freshman selection by the Kansas City Star.
