More Honors for Bowen

DALLAS ? Iowa State linebacker Alvin “Ace” Bowen has been named to the preseason first-team all-Big 12 Conference team by the league's writers. Bowen led the nation in tackles last season, averaging 12.92 stops per game. The East Orange, N.J. native made 155 tackles during the 2006 season.

Bowen was a consensus first-team all-Big 12 selection last season and has already been named to the first-team all-conference preseason squad by Athlon, The Sporting News, Phil Steele's and Street and Smith's magazines. He is on the Nagurski and Bednarik national watch lists.
