AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team will attempt to make it three straight wins over intrastate rival Northern Iowa when they face off Wednesday evening at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Cyclone Notebook
- The Cyclones went 2-2 last weekend at the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa Challenge in Tempe, Ariz. ISU beat Northern Arizona and Long Island, a NCAA Tournament qualifier from last year. Their losses came to New Mexico and the host Arizona State Sun Devils.
- The Cyclones and Panthers will be playing for the first time at the McLeod Center. UNI moved into the new arena this season after previously playing in West Gym.
- Iowa State has won its last two meetings against the Panthers, including a 3-1 win last season at Hilton Coliseum.
- Erin Boeve needs just nine kills to become the seventh ISU player to reach 1,000 kills for her career.
- The Cyclones had a school record 38 block assists against Middle Tennessee, breaking the previous record of 37 set last year in the regular season finale against Colorado.
- Middle blocker Diane Kieger had four solo blocks and three block assists against Arizona State.
- Against Arizona State, Boeve tied a career-high with 28 kills. The Steen, Minn., native had her best match since moving from the middle to the outside, hitting .310 against the Sun Devils.
- Laura Cady had her streak of seven straight matches with 10+ digs snapped in Iowa State's loss to New Mexico.
- Junior Amy Vos posted a career-high with 15 digs against Arizona State.
A Closer Look At Northern Iowa (3-3)
- Northern Iowa holds a 24-19 edge in the all-time series, but ISU has won the last two meetings.
- UNI has won 33 of its last 36 meetings with Iowa schools. Two of the three losses were to the Cyclones.
- The Panthers are coached by Bobbi Petersen, now in her eighth season at the helm of the UNI volleyball program. Her career record is 184-53.
- Northern Iowa is led by senior Danielle Brazda, who is averaging 3.00 kills and 1.90 blocks. Brazda is hitting .357 on the season. Ashten Stelken leads the team with 3.25 kills per game and freshman Ellie Blankenship averages 5.35 digs per game.
- The Panthers went 1-2 last weekend, dropping contests to nationally ranked Wisconsin and BYU and defeating American.
