AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team looks to continue the momentum of Wednesday nights sweep of Northern Iowa as it heads to Drake for the Hampton Inn State of Iowa Collegiate Volleyball Challenge this weekend. The Cyclones (3-4) will face LSU before taking on intrastate rivals Iowa and Drake.

Cyclone Notebook
- The Cyclones swept intrastate rival Northern Iowa on Wednesday night in Cedar Falls for their second consecutive win.
- Iowa State has now won three straight over UNI and is 6-0 against Iowa schools under the direction of third year head coach Christy Johnson.
- Erin Boeve became just the seventh player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills with her third game kill against UNI. It's the second straight season that ISU has had a player reach the milestone, with Katie Jessen doing it in 2006.
- The Cyclones shattered the school-record for digs in a single match since the inception of the rally scoring era with 83 against the Panthers. The previous record was 76 against Creighton in 2005.
- The Cyclones had a school record 38 block assists against Middle Tennessee, breaking the previous record of 37 set last year in the regular season finale against Colorado.
- Kaylee Manns tied a career-high with 23 digs against UNI while Lauren Cummings' chipped in 17 kills for the second straight match.
- Against Arizona State, Boeve tied a career-high with 28 kills. The Steen, Minn., native had her best match since moving from the middle to the outside, hitting .310 against the Sun Devils.
- Laura Cady recorded the second 20-dig match of her career with 21 against the Panthers.
- Iowa State has held its last two opponents to a hitting percentage below .125 after allowing UNI to hit just .117.
- Junior Amy Vos posted career-high with 15 digs against Arizona State.
Head Coach Christy Johnson
- Head coach Christy Johnson is in her third season at Iowa State with a 40-30 (.565) record.
- Johnson, who inherited a team that had won just 13 Big 12 matches in 180 tries, has led ISU to a 21-19 league record in two seasons.
- The Cyclones are 6-0 against teams from Iowa (3-0 vs. UNI, 2-0 vs. Drake, 1-0 vs. Iowa) under the direction of Johnson.
A Closer Look At LSU (6-0)
- Friday's meeting will be the first between the Cyclones and Tigers.
- LSU defeated Illinois, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Rice last weekend at the Mizuno Invitational in Houston, Texas.

- Iowa leads the all-time series between the schools 21-18, with ISU winning the last two matches.
- The Cyclones took a 3-2 win last season after falling behind 2-0. It was the first meeting between the teams since 2003.
- Iowa defeated UC Riverside, Saint Francis and Northern Colorado last weekend in Greeley, Colo.
- Megan Schipper paces the Hawkeye offense with 2.80 kills per game. Emily Hiza leads the defense with 3.60 digs while Schipper is second on the squad with 2.20 digs.
- The Hawkeyes are coached by Cindy Fredrick, who is in her fourth season as the head coach.
A Closer Look At Drake (2-2)
- The Cyclones hold a 33-20 edge in the all-time series, including wins in the last six meetings.
- Drake is coached by Amy Farber Knowles, a former assistant coach at Iowa State. Farber Knowles is in her third season as coach of the Bulldogs.
- The Bulldogs are led by Mikayla Sims, who is second on the team with 3.12 kills and hits a team-high .316 from her outside hitter position. Emily Madden leads the team with 3.31 kills. Defensively, Alana Wittenburg averages 3.94 digs.
