Iowa State

Bradley Classic

10.17.2008 | Cross Country
Newcomers Dani Stack and Meaghan Nelson raced to fourth and fifth place, respectively, to lead the ISU women. Paige Ties finished seventh for Iowa State, which won the meet with 51 points. Northern Iowa was second with 94 points, followed by Indiana State (127) and Drake (136). The 15-team race boasted 136 runners.
"The women beat Northern Iowa, which had finished ahead of us at the Griak meet last month," Iowa State head coach Corey Ihmels said. "I thought our effort as a team was strong. This men's group demonstrated the depth of our team this fall. Tomorrow will be a much tougher challenge."
The primary Iowa State men's team will compete Saturday in the Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Cyclones will play host to the Big 12 Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1 at the Iowa State Cross Country Course. Competition begins at 11 a.m. CDT.
