Complete Pre-Event Coverage
Cyclone Notebook
? Iowa State has won seven of its last 10 matches and sits alone in fourth place in the Big 12 by one match over Baylor. ISU has defeated the Bears twice this season.
? Iowa State's final five opponents have a winning percentage of .459.
? The Cyclones match at Oklahoma, scheduled for Nov. 22, has been set as a 3 p.m. start time to avoid conflict with the Sooners' football game, which will be played at 7 p.m. that evening.
? With its win over Texas Tech last Wednesday, ISU secured its fourth straight winning season and gauranteed itself consideration for NCAA Tournament play.
? The Cyclones dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision to Texas, forcing extra points on the Longhorns in the first and second frames before falling.
? Against the Longhorns, Victoria Henson finished with a match-best 14 kills while Ashley Mass had 15 digs for the Cyclones in the losing effort. ISU struggled to stop a potent Texas' attack which finished with a .330 hitting percentage. Texas is the only Big 12 team to hit above .300 against ISU this season and they did it in both meetings.
? Iowa State's match at Texas A&M will be its last at historic G. Rollie White Coliseum. The Aggies will be moving to Reed Arena next fall.
? Henson is averaging 4.65 kills and hitting .331 in the last 10 matches.
? With her 394 kills on the season, Henson owns the ISU sophomore record and sits in 12th on the ISU single-season charts with five regular season matches remaining. She needs 14 to move into a tie for 11th with Diane Doles (1982).
? Henson is 24th all-time at ISU with 681 career kills.
? Sophomore Ashley Mass became the quickest Cyclone to ever reach 1,000 digs, doing it in her 59th career match. It is also the fastest any Big 12 player has reached the mark.
? Jen Malcom is the career leader at ISU for hitting percentage with a .329 average. This season, Malcom is third in the league with a .381 percentage.
? Malcom is seventh all-time at ISU with her 255 career block assists.
? Malcom is closing in on 1,000 collegiate kills. The transfer from Syracuse has 949 kills, 563 of which have come since she arrived in Ames.
? Kaylee Manns needs just 72 digs to become just the second player in school history to record 1,000 assists and 1,000 digs (Lisa Burke, 1988-91).
? Manns owns the top-three single-season assists per set marks in school history. Her 11.68 this season, which leads the Big 12 and ranks fifth in the nation, is the third highest in school history.
? Manns is averaging 12.30 assists per set over the last 10 matches. ISU is hitting .267 during the stretch.
? Manns is just 65 assists shy of becoming the second Cyclone to reach 4,000 career assists.
? Malcom needs 11 total blocks to move into the top-10 for a career at ISU.
? Each Christy Johnson team in her first three years at the helm has posted a top-10 mark for block assists. This year's team needs just 27 to continue the trend. Johnson's first three teams hold the top-three spots and the 2008 team needs 96 to get into the fourth spot.
? Freshman Rachel Hockaday needs 16 kills to break Henson's freshman mark of 276 kills.
? Iowa State's freshmen class has 416 kills this season, the most ever by a rookie class at ISU.
Scouting Texas A&M
? The Aggies have lost three straight and are coming off a bye. A&M sits at 10-14 overall and 5-9 in Big 12 play. Texas A&M must go undefeated over its final six matches to be eligible for NCAA Tournament consideration.
? The Aggies three straight losses have come against the league's top teams in Nebraska, Texas and Kansas State. In the defeats against K-State and Nebraska, the Aggies forced a fifth set only to come up short.
? Last Wednesday against the Huskers, outside hitter Sarah Ammerman ripped 20 kills at a .304 clip and dug 21 balls. Ammerman's fellow outside Mary Batis had 15 kills and 11 digs while freshman libero Kelsey Black, who played outside in the first meeting with the Cyclones, finished with a career-high 23 balls. The Aggies outdug the Huskers 90-86 but were outserved by NU, which held a 11-0 edge in service aces.
? The Aggies are sixth in the Big 12 in hitting percentage with a .208 team average. A&M allows its opponents to hit .213. The Aggies are tied for last in the league in serving, averaging just 0.90 aces per set.
? Batis is ninth in the conference averaging 3.38 kills per set while setter Kristen Schevikhoven dishes out 9.64 assists. Darla Donaldson ranks among the league leaders with 0.95 blocks per set.
? A&M has played much of the season without middle blocker Jillian Phillips, who has missed 18 matches this season. She did play the final four points against Kansas State on Oct. 29.
? The Aggies hold a 23-4 edge in the all-time series. ISU has won just once (2006) in 13 tries in College Station.
Last Time Out Against Texas A&M
? The Cyclones swept Texas A&M, 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 26-24) in convincing fashion to open the Big 12 season back in September. It marked ISU's third-straight home win over the Aggies.
? Victoria Henson posted a three-set rally scoring record 18 kills and hit .441 to lead the Cyclones. As a team, ISU hit just .214 but got 18 digs from Ashley Mass and eight service aces as a team to keep A&M off balance.
? No player were in double-digits for the Aggies, who hit just .062 as a team. Kelsey Black, now the starting libero for A&M had a team-best seven kills in the match. The Cyclones held A&M's heavy swingers, Sarah Ammerman and Mary Batis, to just six and five kills, respectively.

? In five meetings with the Aggies, Kaylee Manns has dished out 12.68 assists per set while digging 3.21 balls per frame.
? Mass is the active leader for ISU with an impressive 5.90 digs per set against A&M.

? The Cyclones enjoy Big 12 bye number two this weekend before hosting Colorado next Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum.

? With 4,026 fans at the Texas match, Iowa State has set a new single-season mark for attendance, going over 20,000 fans for the first time in school history. The Cyclones still have two home matches left, but here is how it all stacks up:
1. 20,831 (2008)
2. 18,781 (2007)
3. 14,577 (1995)
4. 14,151 (2006)
5. 13,815 (2003)
Manns Nearing 1,000 Digs
? Kaylee Manns is just 72 digs shy of 1,000 digs and becoming the second player in school history to reach 1,000 assists and 1,000 digs.
RPI Check
? One of the factors used in determining NCAA at-large berths is the RPI. While its not the sole factor, its importance can't be argued. In the second RPI rankings of the season, ISU sits at 39th in the rankings. The Cyclones are the fourth Big 12 team in the standings behind Nebraska (2), Texas (4), Kansas State (13).
The Cyclones have wins over Kansas State (17), Florida International (21), Baylor (49) twice, Creighton (48) and Iowa (67) as well as wins over four other top-100 teams. Six of ISU's 10 losses have come to RPI top-30 teams.
