AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State had a school-record five players honored on the 2008 All-Big 12 volleyball teams, including sophomore Ashley Mass who was named the Big 12's Libero of the Year.
Mass also earned All-Big 12 honorable mention honors while sophomore Victoria Henson and junior Kaylee Manns were first-team All-Big 12 honorees. It marks the first time that ISU has had two players earn first-team honors in the same season and Henson and Manns become just the second and third recipients of the award in school history.

Mass, a Muskego, Wis. native, was the Big 12's overall and conference digs leader, producing 5.22 digs per set in league action. Mass wrapped up the regular season with 574 digs, just 32 short of tying ISU's single-season mark. As of last week, she ranked 20th nationally with 5.08 digs per set. She has earned four Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors this season, and is the ISU career leader for conference player of the week awards with six.
Manns, a junior setter, was a preseason All-Big 12 pick prior to the season and went on to finish second in the league with 11.71 assists. The Topeka, Kan. native was second among Big 12 setters with 2.61 digs per set.
Henson, an outside hitter from Leavenworth, Kan., broke onto the Big 12 scene in a big way this season, ranking third in the Big 12 with 4.09 kills per set. She was second in Big 12 matches only with 4.12 kills. Henson hit .246 on the season while averaging 4.49 points per set.
Malcom, a middle blocker and co-captain along with Manns, has been one of the Big 12's most efficient hitters this season, averaging 2.85 kills while hitting at a .372 clip. Her hitting percentage ranks third among Big 12 players. Malcom is also one of the top blockers in the conference, finishing the season fourth in the league with 1.11 blocks.
Decatur, Ill. native Rachel Hockaday became the second Cyclone, joining Mass in 2007, to be named to the Big 12's All-Freshman Team. Hockaday, a six-rotation player for the Cyclones, is just the fifth freshman in school history to average over 2.00 kills and 2.00 digs per set. The outside hitter broke Henson's freshman record for kills with 302. She also has 23 aces on the season.
