AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State track and field members Kiel Uhl and Lisa Koll have been named to their respective 2007 Division I USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Teams. The Cyclone men's and women's cross country squads were also recognized as 2007 NCAA Division I USTFCCCA all-academic teams.
"Lisa and Kiel's academic records speak for themselves," Iowa State head coach Corey Ihmels said. "I am very proud that both teams were honored as a group."
Individual honorees need a 3.25 cumulative GPA and place among the top 15 finishers at their respective NCAA Regional meet, or receive All-America honors. Teams must have complied a team score at the regional meet and have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0.
The Iowa State men's team is one of 15 squads nationally that earned the all-academic designation and qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Uhl, a two-time academic all-Big 12 honoree as an architecture major, placed third in the Midwest Regional last fall in Peoria, Ill.
Two-time All-American Lisa Koll took 18th place at the NCAA Championships last fall and is majoring in biology.
