AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State volleyball team concluded its spring season with a strong showing at the University of Minnesota's Spring Tournament last weekend. The Cyclones defeated Marquette (2-1) and North Dakota State (2-1) while tying Minnesota (2-2). For the spring ISU finished 7-1-1.
“We played pretty well this weekend,” said ISU head coach Christy Johnson. “We played Minnesota much tougher than last weekend and served, passed and defended much better this time around. Overall it was a great way to finish out our spring season.”
On the weekend, Jen Malcom paced the Cyclones with 28 kills while hitting a team-best .328. Rachel Williams and Mary Bisenius had 25 and 21 kills, respectively, from their outside position. Diane Kieger split her time between the middle and right side and finished with 20 kills.
