ISU To Play Minnesota In Insight Bowl

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State football team will play Minnesota in the 2009 Insight Bowl at 5 p.m. CT on Dec. 31st in Sun Devil Stadium (Tempe, Ariz). The bowl will be televised on the NFL Network.

“We are thrilled to be heading to the Insight Bowl,” said Head Coach Paul Rhoads. “The trip is a reward to our players, who did what many people felt they couldn't do. It is also a reward for our fans, whose tremendous turnout in Arizona in 2000 paved the way for this return trip. I was on the other sideline (Pitt) when Iowa State played in the 2000 game and remember the roar from Cyclone fans when Iowa State took the field. The Insight Bowl is first-class in every respect, and we look forward to a great game and a great trip for our fans.”

Iowa State has played in the Insight Bowl once previously (defeating Pittsburgh, 37-29 in 2000).

Tickets for the 2009 Insight Bowl cost $55 each and can be ordered ...

by phone (toll free at 1-888-478-2925 or locally at 515-294-1816), beginning Monday, Dec. 7 at 9 a.m.; or
in person at the ISU Athletics Ticket Office, beginning Monday, Dec. 7, at 9 a.m.

The Athletics Ticket Office will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 7) and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. beginning Tuesday (Dec. 8).

Bowl ticket reminders:

Seating locations are not determined at the time of ticket purchase and will be based on Cyclone Club membership level and priority ranking within that level. The deadline to place your ticket order and receive priority seating based on your Cyclone Club membership level is Friday, Dec. 11, at noon.
Cyclone Club seating priority will be applied to the first four tickets ordered (except for Directors level donors, whose priority will be applied to the first eight tickets ordered). Additional tickets ordered will be allocated in the best available location.
Seating locations for non-donors will be allocated after all Cyclone Club priority seating orders are filled.
All tickets will be sent via UPS and should be delivered by Wednesday, Dec. 23. Tickets cannot be sent to a P.O. Box, so a street address is required when placing an order. If you prefer picking up your tickets at the bowl site, select the “Will Call” option when ordering. The “Will Call” location will be announced at a later date.
Placing a ticket order does not guarantee receipt of tickets. You will be notified by Dec. 14 if your order cannot be filled.
