ISU Takes Four of Five Sets In Spring Opener

SAN DIEGO, Calif. ? Rachel Hockaday and Carly Jenson had 15 kills each to lead Iowa State to a 4-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-16, 25-14, 15-8) win over San Diego State on Wednesday in San Diego. The Cyclones will continue spring exhibition play Thursday against San Diego at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Jenson hit .520 in the match with Hockaday just behind her at .455. Victoria Henson was also in double-figures with 12 kills on a .345 hitting percentage. The Cyclones had nine service aces in the match, led by Caitlin Mahoney's three aces. Ashley Mass, Hockaday and Jenson each chipped in two aces in the contest.
