ISU Travels to Cal in Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series

IRVING, Texas?The Iowa State men's basketball team will travel to Berkeley, Calif., to face California in the 2009 Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series, announced today by the Big 12 Conference. The game is scheduled for Dec. 5. Times and television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
ISU is 2-0 all-time in Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series matchups, winning at Oregon State in 2007 (71-64, OT) and defeating the Beavers in the return game last season in Hilton Coliseum, 63-50. ISU and Texas are the only two Big 12 teams with a perfect 2-0 mark in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series.
The Golden Bears will have one of the best backcourts in the nation with the return of seniors Jerome Randle and Patrick Christopher. The First-Team All-Pac-10 selections led Cal to a 22-11 mark and a NCAA Championship appearance.
ISU, which returns four of five starters, including First-Team All-Big 12 selection Craig Brackins, will play host to Cal in the return game in 2010.
