BELGRADE, Serbia- Iowa State men's basketball stars Craig Brackins and Lucca Staiger are competing this week at the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia. Brackins is representing the United States and Staiger is a member of the German team. Both teams have played three games in the tournament.

Lucca Staiger led all scorers with 21 points, but Germany fell to Lithuania, 76-75 today. Lithuania outscored Germany, 27-9 in the fourth quarter. Staiger went 7-18 from the field, 4-12 from 3-point range and had four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Germany, now 1-2, will play Romania tomorrow at 1 p.m. CST. Staiger is averaging 18.6 points, top scorer on the team, and is 10-of-23 (43.5%) from 3-point range in the tournament.

Craig Brackins
Craig Brackins had seven points and seven rebounds, as USA defeated Greece, 108-77 in intermediate play today. Brackins went 2-4 from the field, 1-3 from 3-point range and had one assist. USA, now 3-0 in the tournament, will play Serbia tomorrow at 1 p.m. CST. Brackins is averaging 10.6 points and 7.3 rebounds. He is leading the USA squad in rebounding. Brackins led the USA team with 16 points in the opening round game vs. Finland.
