Gleason Named to Preseason All-Big 12 Squad

AMES, Iowa?Iowa State senior goalkeeper Ann Gleason was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 soccer team Wednesday, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Gleason has had an impressive playing career at Iowa State, holding the career saves (318), career minutes in goal (5,077), career shutouts (11) and single-season goals against average (0.89) program records.
The Stillwater, Minn., native has also shined in the classroom. Gleason is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree, a two-time ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII recipient and has been on the Iowa State dean's list all six semesters of her collegiate career. Gleason is majoring in chemical engineering.
The Iowa State soccer team kicks off the 2009 campaign at Creighton Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The Cyclones open play at the ISU Soccer Complex Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. against South Dakota State.
