AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State head volleyball coach Christy Johnson-Lynch and the team spent Monday afternoon on the “hot seat”, taking questions from local media that ranged from handling expectations to what teammate would be most likely to appear on Fox's “So You Think You Can Dance.”
While Johnson-Lynch understands the expectations that come with being a highly ranked team, she let it be known that it wasn't something the team was going to worry about, instead placing focus on how it can get better each season.
“We have not really talked to the team yet about anything in terms of placement in the Big 12 or NCAA tournament, but we have never done that,” Johnson-Lynch said. “We just try to improve a little bit each year. I hope our record continues to improve in the Big 12 and that will result in just being a better team, placing higher in the standings. I would love to get a higher seed in the NCAA Tournament. Some vague goals, but we just want to keep building off of last season.”
