AMES, Iowa - The 12th-ranked Iowa State volleyball team returns to action Wednesday with a road tilt against intrastate rival Northern Iowa. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m. at the McLeod Center.

? Iowa State started the season 2-0 for the first time since 2007 with a weekend sweep of UW-Milwaukee. The last time Iowa State won their first two home matches was 2006.
? Christy Johnson-Lynch won her 80th career match with the win against UWM Saturday. She is the fastest coach in school history to reach the mark.
? The Cyclones won each set last weekend by an average of 8.8 points.
? After hitting just .178 on Friday, ISU improved its hitting percentage to an impressive .358 in the rematch.
? Senior setter Kaylee Manns became Iowa State's career leader for assists in Saturday's match when she passed Lisa Burke. Manns has 4,419 assists in her career.
? Manns needs just 368 assists to move into 10th place on the Big 12's all-time charts.
? Iowa State's opponents for this week (UNI, George Washington, Auburn and Minnesota) went 9-2 on opening weekend. George Washington and Auburn won its tournaments while Minnesota lost to third-ranked Nebraska in five sets and Northern Iowa fell 3-1 to Texas A&M.
? The Cyclones are 4-1 against UNI during the Johnson-Lynch era. The Panthers won last year's regular season meeting in Ames but ISU got revenge in the postseason with a 3-1 win in Minneapolis in the first round.
? Victoria Henson averaged 4.17 kills per set last weekend, including a match-high 16 in Saturday's sweep. Henson hit .387 in that match after going for just nine kills on a .160 hitting percentage in Friday's contest.
? The Cyclones are 11-3 against Missouri Valley Conference opponents under Johnson-Lynch. ISU has dropped matches to UNI, Creighton and Missouri State.
? In her first weekend as a Cyclone, freshman Jamie Straube proved why she was the highest rated player ISU has ever signed. Straube had a solid all-around weekend, averaging 2.33 kills, 0.83 digs and 0.83 blocks per set. She finished with two solo blocks and three block assists in two matches.
? Kelsey Petersen had a great weekend as well, leading the team with a .375 hitting percentage on 15 kills. She also added three block assists.
? After posting double-digit digs in both matches last weekend, Ashley Mass has now been in double figures in 18 consecutive matches.
? The Cyclones are looking to improve on a 5-10 away record in 2008.
? ISU moved up a notch to No. 12 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. It equals the highest ranking in school history, matching the final ranking from 2008.
Manns Leads The Way
? Senior Kaylee Manns became Iowa State's all-time assist leader against UW-Milwaukee (8-29). The record breaking assist came on a set to Victoria Henson.
Johnson-Lynch Fastest To 80 Wins
? Fifth-year head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch reached 80 career wins faster than any coach in the history of the program, doing it in her 133rd match. Her 80 wins ties her for third all-time at the school. Here is a look at career coaching leaders:
