AMES, Iowa - The 10th-ranked Iowa State volleyball team opens Big 12 play Wednesday night as it plays host to Colorado at 6:30 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones (8-1) are off to their best start since 1997 and are looking to win their Big 12 opener for the fourth-straight season.

? 10th-ranked Iowa State heads into Big 12 play this week with an 8-1 record. It marks the best start in school history since ISU opened with the same record in 1997. The Cyclones will host Colorado Wednesday before traveling to face No. 2 Texas Friday night.
? With a win against the Buffaloes, ISU will have the best record in school history after 10 matches.
? The Cyclones have won their last three Big 12 openers and are 3-1 under head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch in league openers. Overall, ISU is 3-10 in Big 12 openers.
? Last weekend, ISU hit .249 as a team while holding opponents to a .091 hitting percentage. The Cyclones are hitting .236 as a team, which is up from last season's school-record .234 mark.
? The Cyclones rank among the nation's leaders in a number of categories. Led by Kaylee Manns, who is third in the country in assists, ISU also ranks third in the nation in assists as a team. The Cyclones are also fourth in kills and sixth in digs.
? Victoria Henson is the only player in the Big 12 ranked among the top-10 in digs and kills. The junior is third in kills (3.93) and tied for 10th in digs (3.41).
? Henson was named tournament MVP last weekend after averaging 3.64 kills, 3.00 digs and hitting an impressive .323. For her efforts, Henson was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week while Ashley Mass was the league's defensive player of the week.
? Sophomore Debbie Stadick had arguably her best weekend as a Cyclone, averaging 2.73 kills and hitting .434. Stadick also averaged 1.09 blocks for the week. She had a career-high 12 kills against Drake and was also in double-digits with 10 kills against Iowa.
? Kelsey Petersen notched a career-high 14 kills against Iowa.
? Mass continued to rack up accolades, this time taking home Best Libero honors after posting 5.18 digs per set. The junior had a season-high 27 in ISU's win over the Hawkeyes.
? Mass is one of the main reasons ISU is leading the Big 12 in digs (17.81).
? Kaylee Manns needs just 77 assists to move into 10th place on the Big 12's all-time charts.
? Mass needs six more 10-dig matches to move into a tie for third all-time at the school with her predecessor Katie Churm. Churm had 76 career matches in double-figures.

? Iowa State has won five-straight home matches and two in a row in Big 12 play.
? The Cyclones are 39-18 at home under Johnson-Lynch.
