Cyclone Football In Kansas City

AMES, Iowa - If you are finalizing plans for this weekend's football game in Kansas City or still contemplating whether to make the short trip down I-35, be sure to consider some of the off-the-field fun surrounding Saturday's Big 12 opener between the Cyclones and Kansas State at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Iowa State Athletics Department and ISU Alumni Association are co-sponsoring two events in advance of the football match-up the Cyclones and Wildcats. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

Cyclone Spirit Party (Friday, 5-8 p.m.) - The Friday night pre-game party at Kansas City Live! in the Power and Light District of downtown Kansas City will feature fun with fellow Cyclone fans, music, team video highlights, give-aways and a short program on the main stage at 7 p.m. Fans can purchase a souvenir wristband ($1 each) at the Iowa State table and receive discounts at various businesses in the district.

Pre-Game Tailgate at Arrowhead Stadium (Saturday, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.) - Get your game face on Saturday morning at the pre-game tailgate in the Arrowhead Stadium Pavillion. Admission is $5 per adult and free for children aged 18 and under. There will be food and beverage available for purchase, spirit give-away items (free koozies or coasters to the first 400 Cyclone Club or Alumni Association members and free beads for everyone) and appearances by Cy, the pep band and spirit squads.
