Fans Traveling to KC: I-35 Road Delays Possible

CHARITON, Iowa - Iowa State University football fans should plan ahead when traveling to Kansas City this weekend for ISU's game against Kansas State. The Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) Chariton construction office advises that continuing road work on Interstate 35 south of Des Moines could cause some travel delays.

Due to construction work, traffic is routed in a head-to-head pattern from Iowa 92 in Warren County south to the Decatur County line. Travelers should be prepared for some delays in the area of single-lane traffic.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
