- ISU is 4-4 all-time in games played in Chicago...three of its four wins were against the University of Chicago from 1917-27...the Cyclones picked up their fourth win in the Windy City earlier this year, knocking off St. Louis in the Chicago Invitational at the UIC Pavilion...ISU lost the championship game to Northwestern.
- Wednesday's game features two of the best 3-point shooting teams in the nation...ISU ranks fifth nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (101-237, 42.62%) and Duke has made 42.59 percent of its shots from beyond the arc (112-263) to rank sixth nationally.

Last Time Out
- Iowa State had its struggles during the game, but in the end the Cyclones made the plays to outlast Houston, 82-75 in double overtime.
- Marquis Gilstrap came alive in the second overtime period, scoring eight of ISU's 13 points...Gilstrap finished the game with 17 points and five boards.
- It looked like ISU was done in regulation, as UH had a one-point lead and the ball with 0:30 seconds left...however, Gilstrap tipped an inbounds pass and ISU regained control and found Diante Garrett for a lay-up and conventional 3-point play to take a 2-point lead.
- The Cougars, however, made a shot with 0:01 left in the game to force overtime.
- Garrett came up with another dramatic shot to force the second overtime when he made a running bank shot with 0:06 seconds left.
- Thanks to Gilstrap and Lucca Staiger, who made six treys en route to a team-high 18 points, the Cyclones led by as many as nine points in the final extra session.
