AMES, Iowa - Iowa State head men's basketball coach Fred Hoiberg was a part his fifth media day at Iowa State this afternoon, but this time from a different perspective.
Hoiberg, an All-American and Iowa State's third all-time leading scorer (1,993 points), was named the Cyclones' 19th head coach in school history on April 28. Hoiberg participated in his first media day as the Cyclone mentor, as Iowa State unveiled its 2010-11 Cyclone team to the Iowa media at the Sukup Basketball Complex this afternoon.
Hoiberg, who was dealt one of the youngest teams in the nation and has only three returning letterwinners, opened the event with a press conference followed by individual interviews with coaches and student-athletes.
