AMES, Iowa - The No. 12 Iowa State Cyclones (15-4, 8-3 Big 12) head to Manhattan, Kan. on Wednesday to face the Kansas State Wildcats (9-13, 3-8). The match is set for 7 p.m.
The Cyclones have won their last four matches including Saturday's three-set sweep of Kansas at Ames High School and can sweep the season series with the Wildcats with a win on Wednesday night at Ahearn Field House.
Over the last two weeks, Iowa State sophomore Jamie Straube has found a new level of play. Straube is hitting a team-best .480 in the last four matches, including a career-high .556 hitting percentage in the win over the Jayhawks.
On defense, Iowa State is led by Ashley Mass who garnered defensive conference honors this week for her 36 digs against Colorado and Kansas last week. Mass has been recognized 14 times by the Big 12 for her defensive play.
Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State moved back up the conference rankings after its wins over Colorado and Kansas. The Cyclones are ranked second in the Big 12 in assists per set (13.53), kills per set (14.37) and digs per set (15.84).
- Offense continues to drive the Cyclones. With a hitting percentage of .277, Iowa State trails only Texas (.289) and Nebraska (.285) in the league standings.
- Freshman Tenisha Matlock got her first start of the season in the Cyclones' win over the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday. Matlock finished the match with two kills and four block assists.
- Alison Landwehr has taken over the top spot in the Big 12 in assists per set (11.68) after recording a career-high 59 assists at Colorado and adding 37 against Kansas.
- Landwehr added 10 digs against the Wildcats for her third-straight double-double performance and her eighth of the season.
- Victoria Henson raised her kill average to 4.35 last week, up from 4.31. Henson sits atop the conference in kills per set.
- Henson also ranks in the top 10 in the Big 12 in hitting percentage (9th, .302) and points per set (2nd, 4.78).
- Sophomore Jamie Straube has been on a tear the last two weeks, hitting a team-high .480 in the last four matches, including a career-high .556 against Kansas, and grabbing 1.07 blocks per set, second on the team behind Debbie Stadick.
- Straube's play over the last two weeks has catapulted her to sixth in the Big 12 in hitting percentage (.322) and she is 10th in blocks with 1.03 per set.
- Carly Jenson continues to make her mark in 2010, ranking ninth in the conference with 3.12 kills per set and collecting 0.25 service aces per set, tied for eighth in the league.
- Henson had a season-high three service aces against the Jayhawks.

- The Cyclones 53-match win streak over unranked teams ended with a 3-1 loss to the Jayhawks on Oct. 6.
- Iowa State has beaten at least one ranked foe in each of Johnson-Lynch's six years at the school.
- ISU opponents have hit over .300 just 14 times in 182 matches under Johnson-Lynch. Topping .300 has happened just eight times in 119 matches since 2007.
- Mass has posted double-digit digs in 108 of the 112 matches she has started at libero. Overall, she has been in double-digits 109 times.
