Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State (6-1) lost for the first time this season and was unsuccessful in its first road game, losing to UNI, 60-54 in Cedar Falls.
- It was the first defeat for first-year head coach Fred Hoiberg, who tied for the second-best start for an inaugural coach in school history at 6-0.
- The Cyclones must regroup and prepare for California (4-2) on Saturday in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series...ISU fans are encouraged to wear Cardinal attire at the game.
- The Cyclones are 2-1 all-time in the Big 12/Pac-10 battle, defeating Oregon State twice (2007, 71-64 ot; 2008, 63-50) and losing to California in Berkeley last season (82-63).
- Iowa State is 8-1 all-time vs. Pac-10 opponents in Ames, with its only loss to a Paul Westphal-led USC Trojan team, 89-86 on 12-20-71 in the first year of Hilton Coliseum.

- Iowa State lost for the first time this season, falling to UNI, 60-54 Wednesday night in Cedar Falls.
- UNI's Jake Koch broke a 52-52 tie with a clutch jumper with under a minute left...UNI made its free throws down the stretch (20-23 FT), as the Cyclones' 6-0 start tied for the fifth best in school history.
- ISU held an early nine-point lead at 14-5, but UNI took the lead at the half and played in front the rest of the way.
- The Cyclones struggled from the field, shooting a season-low 33.3 percent from the floor (18-54 FG).
- For the first time all season the Cyclones got into foul trouble...four Cyclones had four or more fouls, including Melvin Ejim, who fouled out of his second game of the season.

- Diante Garrett led the Cyclones with 17 points, registering double digits in scoring in all seven games this year.
- Garrett had a season-low three assists, but recorded two steals, moving him to No. 16 on ISU's career steal list with 112 thefts.
- Jake Anderson posted 10 of his 14 points in the second half...ISU's leading rebounder at 8.4 rpg, Anderson tallied a season-low three boards.
- Scott Christopherson scored 10 points on 2-of-5 shooting from the 3-point range...Christopherson ranks fourth nationally in 3-point accuracy at 60.6 percent (20-33 3FG)and has made a 3-pointer in 10-straight games dating back to last season.
- Ejim scored all seven of his points in the second half after battling foul trouble...Ejim's six-game streak of scoring in double figures to begin a career comes to an end...his six-game rookie skein of double-digit scoring ranks second all-time in school history to Adam Haluska, who reached double figures in scoring in his first nine games as a true freshman in the 2002-03 season.
- Freshman Jordan Railey had a solid nine minutes of action, grabbing four rebounds and blocking two shots.
