AMES, Iowa?Craig Brackins has accomplished a lot in his three years in a Cyclone uniform and he is closing in on another milestone in his stellar career. The 6-10 junior needs just 22 points and one rebound to become the sixth player in Iowa State history to amass 1,500 points and 700 rebounds in a career.
The five Cyclones to achieve the feat (Zaid Abdul-Aziz, 1966-68; Jeff Grayer, 1985-88; Victor Alexander, 1988-91; Fred Hoiberg, 1992-95; Marcus Fizer, 1998-2000) are among the greatest players in school history.
All five were selected to ISU's All-Century team in 2008 and established post-Cyclone careers in the NBA, compiling a combined 40 years of NBA experience if you're counting. Not a bad crowd in which to hang.
Brackins, who is just one of two players in the Big 12 Conference to rank in the top-10 in the league in both scoring (16.7 ppg) and rebounding (8.4 rpg), sat down with cyclones.com to talk about his career and last night's win over Nebraska.
