AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team finished 1-2-1 its annual spring tournament Saturday at the West Towne Courts.
The Cyclones opened the tournament splitting with Big 12 foe Kansas State. ISU took the opening set 25-18 before dropping the second 20-25. Iowa State then defeated North Dakota State, 2-0 (25-11, 25-20).
Following a lunch break, the Cyclones struggled against Northern Iowa and Minnesota, going 0-2 against both schools.
Victoria Henson led the Cyclones with 30 kills, despite being hampered by a hand injury suffered in the opening match against Kansas State. Jamie Straube and Rachel Hockaday finished with 20 kills each.
Defensively, All-American Ashley Mass had a team-high 37 digs and Hockaday finished with 24. Kelsey Petersen and Debbie Stadick finished with four blocks each.
The Cyclones will be back in action Thursday night at Hilton Coliseum for a match against their alumni. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. and admission is free.
