Hamilton Signs Free Agent Deal With Minnesota Vikings

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. ? Former Iowa State wide receiver Marquis Hamilton has grabbed an NFL free-agent roster spot on the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Monday.
“Marquis is a big wide receiver (6-3, 224) with good size who showed a good ability catching the ball,” Minnesota vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman said after a tryout camp last weekend. “His performance warranted a further look as we continue this spring.”
Hamilton finished his career with 127 catches for 1,509 yards and eight touchdowns. His receptions total ranks seventh in school history. Hamilton's receiving yards mark is eighth on the all-time ISU career list. A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Hamilton led Iowa State with 50 catches for 606 yards and four touchdowns last season.
