AMES, Iowa - One glance at Iowa State freshman Eric McKnight and you will be certain to see a frame with unlimited potential. At a slender 6-9, McKnight possesses a 7-foot wing span and outstanding leaping ability.
McKnight used his uncanny athleticism to average 11.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.6 blocks at Princeton Day Academy last season. He has been slowed by a minor ankle sprain that has kept him out of Capital City League action so far this summer. His new coach is already impressed with what he's seen out of McKnight.
“Eric is long and athletic,” ISU head coach Fred Hoiberg said. “The big thing for him is that he is really going to have to develop early. He may have to go out and play more than we were expecting his first year. He is another guy who wants to get better and is working on his game all the time.”
McKnight recently sat down with cyclones.com to talk about his expectations for next season. Click on the video links tab on the photo above to watch the interview.
